The Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is a legal incorporated entity. It is not now nor has ever been a part of any government body.

The department was formed in 1973 as a community action project of the Nolensville JAYCEES. In 1977 the department was incorporated and has IRS 501(c) (3) designation.

The department is run by a seven member board of directors elected annually by the membership.

 

What services are provided by the department?

Fire Protection, Vehicle Extrication, First Responder (medical) duties, Hazmat, Education, etc.

The department receives funds in four areas, Williamson County, Donations, Grants, and Town of Nolensville.

 

How many members does the department have?

Currently the department is composed of thirty-two members. The members are all local residents.

 

How do you join the fire department?

Go under the Operations page and click on the Administration and Operations Manual for a complete list of the requirements. Applications are also available at the fire hall, just call and leave a message and someone will contact you.

 

What if you are under the age requirements to join the department?

The department has an Explorer's Program for people 14-21 years of age.

 

How many personnel respond to a call?

The number will vary. The actual number of personnel responding for the previous year is listed on this website under the Operations page.

 

What training is provided?

Department training is provided the first and third Tuesday of every month. Other training is provided by outside sources such as the Tennessee Fire Academy, Williamson County Medical Center, etc.

 

Is someone on duty at the Fire Hall?

No, not at the present time.

 

How do you call the fire department?

If you have an emergency, dial 911. Williamson County Emergency Communications will dispatch the fire department along with other resources if required. For non-emergency, dial 615-776-5050 and leave a message.

 

How are the members notified of a call?

All members have a voice pager 24/7. When a call is dispatched, a description of the call and location is given.

Do other departments assist when needed?

Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. has a mutual aid agreement with all surrounding departments.

ISO are initials for Insurance Service Organization. ISO is the agency that rates fire departments by number, 10 being no protection and 1 being the best. This rating is used in determining insurance premiums.
