The Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department was started as a community action project of the Nolensville JAYCEES in 1973. The original membership was 20 members, 33 full-time members now make up the all volunteer department. The first pumper was a John Beam Hi-Pressure Fog Unit on a 1969 Ford F-700 Chassis, which was housed in a private garage until members built the first fire hall in 1974. The department moved into its present location in 1991. The services provided by the department include Firefighting, Medical Response (BLS), Haz-Mat, and Rescue.
